Róisín McBrinn is an award-winning theatre director from Dublin where she is Artistic Director of the Gate Theatre. She has most recently had huge success with her production of Poor based on the autobiography of Katriona O’Sullivan. Other Gate Theatre productions include, Fun Home, The Snapper and Circle Mirror Transformation.
She was previously Joint Artistic Director and CEO of Clean Break Theatre Company in London. As a director, her productions include Dixon and Daughters (National Theatre), Afterplay and Typical Girls (Sheffield Crucible), Before It Rains, A Family Affair (Sherman Theatre).
She has been nominated for an Irish Times Theatre Award and UK Theatre Award for Best Director and is the recipient of The Young Vic Jerwood Director’s Award and the National Theatre’s Quercus Award.

EDUCATION
Róisín has an MA (hons) Drama and Spanish from Trinity College, Dublin (1996-2000) and received a full scholarship to complete year three at the University of California, San Diego (98-99). She also speaks fluent Spanish and intermediate French and Gaelic.
